VEHICLE DRIVES THROUGH A HOME OF TERMINALLY ILL WOMAN

Most people understand that when they are driving on a Tennessee road, they are at some risk of being in a car accident. However, negligent drivers can pose hazards even for those who are not on the road, as in a matter of seconds a vehicle can veer off-course. When this happens, injuries and fatalities can be suffered by those who are walking on a sidewalk, sitting in a parked car or even sleeping in their own beds.

A pickup truck crashed through a residential building, coming to rest near the bed of a dying hospice patient. The patient, a 93-year-old woman who was suffering from an end-stage lung condition, died. Reports do not indicate the exact time of her death, but investigators were reviewing whether it was caused by the collision.

According to law enforcement officials, the coroner determined that the auto accident did not cause any trauma to the deceased. Rather, the official stance on the incident is that the woman succumbed to death by natural causes.

The structure of the home suffered heavy damage as a result of the crash. Reports do not indicate whether the deceased's family will be pursuing civil litigation to obtain compensation for the property damage.

When a vehicle crashes into a residence it can cause extensive property damage and endanger the lives of those in the home. If a family member has been hurt or killed as a result of such an incident, you may want to discuss your case with an attorney.
