HOW CAN I PREVENT FATIGUE WHILE RIDING MY MOTORCYCLE?

Fatigue is a problem that plagues both car drives and motorcyclists but, as a motor cycle rider, you face unique challenges on the road. However, according to Motorcycle Cruiser Magazine, there are certain precautions you can take to make sure that feeling tired does not end up causing an accident.

Since your body is exposed to the elements when riding, it is important that you take care of yourself. Sun and wind can cause dehydration, which in turn can lead to feeling fatigued. Keeping your body covered is one way to protect yourself from the elements and keep you cool and alert. It is also important to be familiar with the bike that you are riding. You will likely tire more quickly if you are putting in extra energy to adapt to a motorcycle that you have not ridden before.

Another aspect of riding that can cause fatigue that you may not be aware of is noise. Even with a helmet on, noise from wind and traffic can still make you feel tired. Keeping your body in good shape and keeping to a healthy diet while you are riding can also give your energy a boost. Caffeinated drinks can be a good short term way to increase alertness, but alcoholic drinks should definitely be avoided.

Finally, the importance of being well-rested cannot be overstated. If you are leaving on a long trip, try to get as much as sleep as possible the night before and if you feel tired while you are riding, it is always best to pull over and take a break.
